Superintendent's Message

Superintendent's Welcome Letter 2024-2025

Dear District 96 Families,

On behalf of the entire District 96 school district, I extend a warm welcome to all our families, new and returning!

We're thrilled to embark on this exciting new school year together. Whether you're joining us for the first time or continuing your journey with us, we're committed to providing a welcoming, meaningful educational experience that supports your child in growing, learning and exploring!

We believe in a strong partnership between families and educators. During the 2023-2024 school year, our Family and Community Partnerships Action team, comprised of parent representatives and school staff, developed new guidelines for Family and Community Engagement. These guidelines will support our ongoing and shared efforts to connect in meaningful ways to support your child’s education with us. We know our partnership is key to your child's success.

Please note that we have modified our traditional meet-and-greet for students. This year’s meet-and-greet will occur on August 21 from 8:15 am - 9:00 am in your child’s classroom. This is an opportunity to see your child’s classroom (perhaps drop off school supplies) and meet your child’s teacher. We know this quick meet and greet can help shed a few of the first day jitters for many students.

We are excited to unveil the recently updated Central/Hauser campus. The exterior campus project has helped us meet our district-wide goal of separating play and parking and improving student safety. The new recreational play field will open in the Fall of 2025. Regardless of the school your child attends, we hope you find time to visit this new space that includes a new playground structure!

As always, the District 96 website provides important information about school start dates, curriculum, and upcoming events. We encourage you to stay connected through our website and teacher, school, and district communications.

We look forward to collaborating with you throughout the year to ensure your child’s success.

Welcome to the District 96 family! Together, we are “Empowering Learners for Life”!

Sincerely Yours,
Martha
