Volunteering in District 96
Volunteer
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Riverside School District 96 is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor System in all of our schools to build on the district’s program of campus safety for students and faculty. Part of keeping students and faculty safe is knowing who is in our building at all times. Raptor allows us to do that. Raptor will better allow us to track volunteers and guests in our schools and provide us with a safer environment for students and staff.
Volunteer services can encompass a wide variety of activities and/or areas of interest. While the list below is not all-inclusive, the following are some examples of common volunteer opportunities: Classroom Helper, Office Helper, Library Helper, Fundraising, Field Trip Chaperone, and Junior Great Books Volunteer.
If you are visiting the classroom for a single event, such as a field trip or a classroom party, then the Raptor screening will be sufficient for our purposes. If you are joining us as a regular and ongoing volunteer, such as in our Junior Great Books program, then we ask that you complete this Volunteer Information Form & Waiver of Liability form along with the Raptor screening.
Regardless of what form or direction your volunteer services take, your generosity in donating time, assistance, and/or expertise is very much appreciated. With the generous and caring support of volunteers such as yourself, the opportunities to meet the individual needs of each student are greatly increased.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at Email Cathy Perino or 708.447.5007. Thank you for your understanding and support of enhancing school safety protocols in our school and district.
